What stops us from taking risks? What gets in the way of our pursuing our dreams? Fear - fear of failure, fear of embarrassment, fear of a bunch of things. But most of all, the fear that thwarts our dreams is fear of the unknown. Those unknown things invade that safe, critical territory we call "stability" and interrupt our rhythms, adding chaos in our already chaotic lives. "Knowns" - even bad ones are predictable. Sometimes we are more willing to live with a "bad known" than take a risk.

We stick with bad environments because we know them; we have learned how to survive in them - probably because we can predict their results.

What kind of risk of faith is The Lord speaking to you about?
