While general knowledge is good, specialized knowledge is better. Determine to know in depth the the things that God has called you to do. If you are called to write, then be around good writers and learn from them. If you are called to be a doctor, make friends with doctors and get to know how they think and what the experience. Few attempt to get specialized knowledge in the day to day things - but we should pursue knowledge of the things we love to do and are superficially called to do.
