The Dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit as is seen at the Baptism of Jesus by John in the Jordan River, represents the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him” (Matthew 3:16).
Gold is a symbol of the fire of the Holy Spirit as seen on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was first poured out (Acts 2:1-4). Heavenly fire is golden, "as the color of amber, as the appearance of fire" as Ezekiel explained what he saw (Ezekiel 1:27). Jesus promised the disciples that He would send the "Promise of the Father", the Holy Spirit, and they would be clothed with "power from on high" - power that would transform their lives from the inside out and would inable them to be His witnesses to spread the Gospel "to the uttermost parts of the earth" (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8).
